Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies Review

Recently we were asked to try out the Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies range and I was keen to see what they were all about. My girls are only four so we have only just entered into the world of blind bags and little toys or collectibles. The Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies are the first toy of this kind that we have tried out. We were sent four super cute Num Noms Characters for review. As ever opinions are our own.

What are Num Noms?

In case you, like me, are just entering the world of little girl’s toys then Num Noms are collectible scented characters that look like different types of food. They have different series to collect some might be erasers, others stamps and the ones we received are lip glosses.

Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies

The Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies are the latest addition to the Num Noms range and as the name suggests they come in the shape of a smoothie. Inside each pot contains a scented lip gloss with a wand applicator. At only 4 years old my girls haven’t had much to do with lip gloss apart from maybe seeing mummy put some on so I wasn’t sure what they would think of these.

These have a RRP of £4.99 and can be purchased at Smyth’s Toys and The Entertainer or on Amazon. They are suitable for children aged 3 years and up. Read on to see our Num Noms Sparkle Smoothie review and what our little ladies thought.

Opening the Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies

We opened the Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies sitting altogether which was good as they both needed help with removing the packaging and getting into their Num Noms. Once into the packaging they were very excited to see their characters.

One of my little girls is simply obsessed with everything sparkly. She was beyond thrilled when she realised that she had her own lip gloss complete with a lovely smell and sparkles! My other little girl was just enamored with the smoothie character. She was straight away pretending that her Num Nom could talk. I love any toy that gets that little lady talking so I was very happy about that part.

Now as I mentioned the girls haven’t really used lip gloss before so they had a bit of trouble getting it on. In fact I am calling it ‘chin gloss’! They loved doing it and were excited to tell and show their Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies to their grandma.

What Did We Think of the Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies?

Well the first thing to say is that the girls played with them for hours. When I saw them I thought they were super cute, but I couldn’t really see how they could be played with. I assumed that they would mess with the lip gloss and get excited by the surprise element, but that then they would be done. I was wrong though…

They did mess around with the lip gloss, but they also actually played with the Num Noms Characters. They actually created a game where the Num Noms were sisters and they were going on an adventure. So the Num Noms characters weren’t just discarded after one play.

The girls have come back to them time and time again since. I have kept the Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies on a shelf to avoid lip gloss being everywhere. The girls regularly ask for them. They enjoy putting on lip gloss (on their chin) and then playing a game with the cute characters.

Will I buy more Num Noms?

From my perspective I think they would be a great stocking filler and the surprise element is always fun. I probably won’t buy anymore, but that is really because my girls are so young. They aren’t really quite into collecting things yet so are happy with the four that they have. Fast forward 6 months to when they are in school and I am sure it will be a different story. I wonder whether the Num Noms Sparkle Smoothie Lip Glosses are better for perhaps aged 5 and above. I really did they were very cute though. So I have been looking at the rest of the Num Noms range. The girls really do love their Num Noms so I am thinking of getting them another one perhaps the Nums Noms Party Hair as these can be used as pencil toppers so could be great as they start school and learning to write.

Overall we are fans of the Num Noms Sparkle Smoothies. They are a hit here and I am sure will be with other little ones.
