Mother's Day

Jewelry for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is fast approaching in the UK and Ireland so everywhere you go there are reminders to get that card and suggestions for gifts.  My husband has been asking me if there is anything I would like from the children and I wasn’t sure what to say as I feel like I have everything I need.  I was tempted to ask to be allowed to to the loo in peace, but I realised that was entirely unrealistic….  Then a surprise email from Newbridge Silverware arrived in my inbox and my wish list for the husband was drawn up – jewelry was the answer!

PLEASE NOTE I WAS GIFTED TWO NECKLACES;  ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN!!

I must say that I do love receiving gifts that I wouldn’t buy for myself and jewelry falls into that category.  It isn’t that I don’t love necklaces, rings and bracelets, but with four little kids and all the expenses associated with raising them it feels a bit too self indulgent to be spending money on things that I don’t need.  I might want them loads, but I don’t need them and so I let pretty things pass me buy which makes receiving them as gifts all that bit more special.  This year Mother’s day came early as well courtesy of Newbridge Silverware who sent me two beautiful necklaces from their Amy Collection.

Now those of you who have been reading the blog for a while will know that Newbridge Silverware is a little bit special to my family as they have become part of our Christmas traditions.  Made in Co. Kildare, Ireland their pieces have become like a little connection to our Irish roots and each year my mother buys my sister and I one of their beautiful christmas decorations and my 40th birthday present also came from there so many happy memories are tied up with their pieces.  I am genuinely thrilled to be collaborating with them and telling you about this fabulous collection which would make amazing Mother’s Day or birthday gifts.

The Amy Collection

This collection is created by Amy Huberman and inspired by the Sun, Moon and the Stars.  The collection includes 14 carat gold plated bangles, braclets, necklaces, rings and earrings and is designed so that the pieces are stackable and the necklaces are perfect for layering and many of the items are also available in Silver.  I chose The Pendant with Feather (P3001FR £30).  Other similar pieces feature elephants, wishbones and hearts.

and the gold plated coloured stone necklace (NL014 £43) which I thought looked a bit different to the usual things I would pick so I wanted to see what it was like.

I was not disappointed! In fact I am entirely thrilled with my gift from NewBridge Silverware and just love them.  So much so that I have also picked this piece out and showed it to my husband (in not so subtle fashion!!) in the hopes that one will be winging it’s way to me for Mother’s Day or my upcoming birthday.

I love that layered necklace look and have been looking for some necklaces to do this with as I think it looks very cool so I was very happy to discover that it works so well with these pieces from the Amy Collection.  They all include a slider mechanism so that you can easily adjust the length of each necklace (even whilst wearing) to allow them to all sit correctly and complement one another rather than battling for space.  So far I have worn mine to a day time party, on the school run and out for an evening event so I think they are super versatile and look so stylish I am entirely in love with mine.

I should add that as Mother’s Day gift the Newbridge Silverware pieces are great as they all come packaged in beautiful light blue boxes which just make them appear even more special.  I know if I see one of those little boxes shining up at me this Sunday on Mother’s Day I will be a very happy camper!!  Let’s hope that the husband got my non subtle hints or even better is reading my posts 😉

    1. It is actually nicer in real life too. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it as I am a bit rubbish with colour, but I love it. Thanks for joining us on the #DreamTeam

  1. Lovely. I don’t have much jewellery unlike my mum who had loads. Gorgeous idea for mothering Sunday or any special event #DreamTeam

  2. I am a big fan of newbridge jewellery myself and have been given many pieces myself over the years. I didn’t know amy huberman had a collection out. i went through a phase of loving their grace kelly collection and had the pearl necklace, earrings, bracelet and a beautiful brooch (which i then lost, i was gutted). who knows maybe some of this will be coming my way this weekend – i’ll drop a couple of anvils! #dreamteam

  3. THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL! IS IT BAD THAT I HAD A NECKLACE FOR CHRISTMAS 2017 THAT I’VE STILL NOT WORN YET AS THERE ARE TOO MANY CHILDREN WANTING TO RIP IT OFF MY NECK. ONE DAY I’LL GET BACK INTO JEWELLERY! #DREAMTEAM

  4. These are really beautiful and would certainly make a lovely gift on Mother’s Day. The one with the coloured stones caught my eye. I do love a splash of colour and this would work so well as an everyday type of piece to wear. *I’m off to have a good look on the website. Thanks for being a fab #dreamteam host xx

  5. Kirsty, I hope your mother’s day was wonderful and thank you for this review! Lovely. We have a few more weeks, as our mom’s day doesn’t come until mid May. xoxo #dreamteam xoxo
